I forget, j, are you in the Twin Cities? I remember we talked a while back about the days I grew up in 1950's & 60's Northfield & Cannon Falls..but no trips to the great concerts of the day. Family is from Fergus Falls & Osakis. My Great Aunt & Uncle were Ida & Olie from Oakis--you gotta say it like you're from Fargo...ya, I've got the Scandinavian background portrayed on Prairie Home Companion. Homemade potato lefse & pastries & Christmas cookies! Is "Prairie..." still on PBS (television) up there??
I was there till around '78 when Leo Kotke did a lot of guest appearances. Is he still around?

What happened with the Al Franken race?

Yep, SW metro.
Prairie Home Companion isn't really on TV much (only specials), but it's still on NPR every week.
Leo Kottke is around here still, I had a teacher in high school who used to play with him. Plays a buncha gigs around here still.
Franken race isn't over yet, they're 206 votes apart at the moment and it keeps changing in his favor. Next up is a recount, not gonna be done for a month :x

Heh! Love Minnesota! First Jesse for Gov & now Franken's giving the Repug's a run for their money. Ain't that America, baby......little pink houses....and a great sense of history AND humor!! Do love Leo's guitar picking and unlike some, I like his voice , too.
This track has always reminded me of Jim & the doors, lyrically and in tone, but that guitar riff is amazing!

If you haven't heard this one, please check it out, Doors board friends.
:D

Back to a familiar old live performance...just love this one, even if it's so viewed.
The guys look so good performing, and in other shots here.

What a fucking year. This time, the fires were on the other side of town from where I live. Still, enough is enough.

I don't know about further south, but both fires in my county - the Gap Fire in July and the Tea Fire last week - were arson. An arrest was just made in connection with the Gap Fire.

View from my house in July (and why I left early from a visit to Dan's):

Hills are filled with fire.

That close? Jezus Glenn that is scary.
My heart goes out to everyone who lost their home.
And I think Califorian law will get those assholes good for who set those fires.

This is a very funny guy, check out his website, he does more impressions, like Lennon, The Beatles, Dylan etc.

I like his impressions of Bowie the most, so here's for a good laugh:
