.300 Winchester Mag.

Post by TheDoorsMusic »

Here's someone who's gonna be bruised the next day.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AI_n4TTBiA8

I have a Winchester Model 70 (1967) chambered in .300 Winchester Mag. Sharp recoil. My target below with a friends Ruger M77 @ 100 yards bench rest. I felt it the next day. Makes a .270 pleasant to shoot.

What is the distance between you and what you are shooting at Dan?
Looks far.
Can't compare that to throwing some darts. Damn. :-o

92 Meters or 100 Yards. My friend Mark wrote 100M on the target which is not correct. They measure the range off in yards up to 200 yards or 182 Meters. It was his Rifle I shot the target with.

Ah I see now where he wrote that. Didn't see it before.
That is really far. Even more then I thought it would be. Wow.

Yeah, I got it when I was with you and Chris. Not only was the omelette stuffed with ham, but there was a nice slice of ham on top as well. :) We all have to hit Dukes again.

Is that Salli? I don't remember hearing this before.

Dukes will be on the agenda. My guess is Salli, it's the only female interview I can think of? I listen to interviews once and shelve them.

Iain Matthews of legendary Fareport Convention....solo for 40 years. He now lives in Netherlands....performs there quite a bit. Again Holland welcomes another of my favorite artists that the rest of the world has mostly forgotten
(late greats Gene Clark, Dan Fogelberg....).

Have any of you from the Netherlands been to see Iain ? Have a listen. Misty, Ed, JB?

Who remembers this cover?
I like the music, but the voice is not strong or deep enough in my opinion for this song.

Hard roots rocker Jerry Riopelle...defies classification. HIS roots go back to Phil Spector's Philles label. Jerry was his first producer, songwriter, and session musician (piano, drums, guitar)....produced Philles' first hit.

Still going strong.......misty and hard rockers (not metal!) give this a listen.

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=R_BVJ7rr3 ... re=related

AND for free full length mp3 songs from his web site ("lo-fi" but Doors "hi-fi" should sound so good)....8 tracks for your own sampler.....

Thank you James. Gonna give it a listen.

Phil Spector certainly knew what he was doing back in the day.

Still thinking about buying another turntable. I've got one but it's really old.
I do have a lot of Vinyl hidden in boxes and I should find them and play them again. Ed do you have any idea where to buy a good turntable in Holland? And what kind? I have no idea where to go for that these days.

Best Formula 1 driver in the world ever in my opinion. Grew up with him seeing him drive and saw him crash his car live too. :(
The most passioned driver. Loved watching Senna and Alain Prost battle eachother in their McLaren cars back then.
I saw his funeral live on TV too. It's always the risk of the sport but still sad it happened. That whole weekend of the race it had two deads and around 30 wounded if I remember correct.

I had 3 great favourites: Senna, Lauda and GillesVilleneuve.
Fortunately Lauda is still with us. A miracle:

Gilles was enourmous.

Just reading the news and this is so lovely.
A fire fighter that saved a Koala bear from the fires in Australia makes a visit on how to see the animal is doing.
Koala bears can die from stress alone. Very sensitive.
More then a million animals died in the fires along with the lost of human lives.
Tragedy all over. But this is a beautiful video.

You really don't need to know Dutch for this. It's just watching the images and the sounds. it speaks for it self.
The goat. Pretending to be bullfighting with a goat with his pants down?
