Quotes
They can be so inspring.
Gonna start with my favorites from M.C. Escher.
A quick look in his brain. Fantastic.
Anyone else want to share his/hers?
It would be sad to see this topic die.
M.C. Escher Quotes
Are you really sure that a floor can't also be a ceiling?
Only those who attempt the absurd will achieve the impossible. I think it's in my basement... let me go upstairs and check.
What I give form to in daylight is only one per cent of what I have seen in darkness.
We adore chaos because we love to produce order.
So let us then try to climb the mountain, not by stepping on what is below us, but to pull us up at what is above us, for my part at the stars; amen.

My current fave:
"You can spend minutes, hours, days, weeks, or even months over-analyzing a situation; trying to put the pieces together, justifying what could've, would've happened... or you can just leave the pieces on the floor and move the fuck on."
— Tupac Shakur

Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocre minds.
Albert Einstein
Imagination was given to man to compensate him for what he is not; a sense of humor to console him for what he is.
Francis Bacon
Catch a man a fish, and you can sell it to him. Teach a man to fish, and you ruin a wonderful business opportunity.

I have a question about quotes, why the quote 'Have you ever been in love, horrible isn't it?' is claimed to be from Morrison?
wait!! I stand corrected, it is a quote from Neil Gaiman.
But if you google it you can find it under both names......???? hmmmm

Here is a compilation of some of my fav's.....
The bolded one trumping them all
"All the religions of the world, while they may differ in other respects, unitedly proclaim that nothing lives in this world but Truth." Ghandi
"Sometimes when I reflect back on all the wine I drink I feel shamed. Then I look into the glass and think about the workers in the vineyards and all of their hopes and dreams If I didn't drink this wine, they might be out of work and their dreams would be shattered. Then I say to myself, "It is better that I drink this wine and let their dreams come true than be selfish and worry about my liver." ~ Jack Handy
"I don't believe in guilt, I believe in living on impulse as long as you never intentionally hurt another person, and don't judge people in your life. I think you should live completely free." A. Jolie
"The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated" Ghandi
"In Vino Veritas" Unknown
"A religion that takes no account of practical affairs and does not help to solve them is no religion". Ghandi
"Those who control their passions do so because their passions are weak enough to be controlled." Blake
and of course my tattoo.....Teneo Vestri Vox

And if one day you should see me in a crowd
Lend a hand and lift me
To your place in the cloud. --'CELLO SONG by Nick Drake
If you wish to have more Nick Drake lyrics......(you might enjoy these, misty..and ALL).
Even when only read, Nick's words ring of the finest poetry and we all love poetry here...or we wouldn't be here.....

His works sold poorly during his lifetime. Only three albums by Nick Drake before his tragic death at the age of 26. Some family and friends say it couldn't have been suicide, as he was actually on the "rise" emotionally, and likely took too many of his pills to help lift him even more quickly out of the deep depressions he had known most of his life.MistyJm wrote:Thank you James for that link. Going to check it out for sure. I know little of his songs/work. What I saw in his lyrics was beautiful.
He has since come to be regarded as one of the most influential English singer-songwriters of the last 50 years. Get his original 3 LPs as he only issued three LPs and all songs are essential.....no best-of comps here!
1) Fives Leaves Left

"What kind of man would live where there is no daring? I don't believe in taking foolish chances, but nothing can be accomplished without taking any chance at all." - Charles Lindbergh
"Do what makes you happy and else will follow" - Bill Hicks.
The first one I only read for the first time the other night and I thought it was great, that guy had balls. You wouldn't see me fly across the Atlantic in that thing
