Hey Vince, just wondered if you could talk about Robbie a bit. Without breaking his trust maybe something we don't know about him or some opinions about him. He seems the most reticent of the Doors but also the most even balanced. Thanks.

What can I say about Robbie. He was the business man of the group. A superlative musician - extremely talented and versitile in his playing. He has a rather wry sense of humor, is quite, thoughtful, intelligent, somewhat vonservative in his own way. He was easy to get along with. He trusted my judgement and was appreciative of my work.

I liked Robby a great deal. I got along with him just fine, as I did with the others, I was careful to let him think he was the boss though. With a tough guy you have to give him room to manouver.

One thing I can say is that I have not seen or heard a guitarist in the pop field of music that was as well trained or skillful or musical as Robby was and remains so today.

He didn't do anything outrageous on stage or off. He did enjoy the live performances and the audience reaction to Jim and the music.

He is totally devoted to his music and has shown a great talent for writing.

Were Robby to ask me to rejoin, it would be a hard decision to make but I think he might win out.

Ever see someone play flemenco style music on a steel string guitar. I did.

Can you tell us who Robby was closest to in THe Doors....out of the other three? Jim.....Ray......or John?

In rregards to the relations withing the Group I would suggest that in the early days, there were two pairs Tau and Jim as a result of school and the relationship that eventually formed the group. The second is obviously Juhn and Robby. They werew friends wellbefore the Doors, school and meditation (Where they met Ray) and had a lost of common interests.

I think that throughout the history of the group, and I would hope even today, that John and Robby stayed close friends.

Another factory - Ray was older, came from Chicago, different outlook, different background, environment and education. The common thread among them was Music and the activities of the Band.

Through it all, regardless of the mercurial behavior of Jim, Ray had Dorothy, whom Ray eventually Married. Their interests and association was a sort of separator between Ray and the others.
