Thanks for the greeting. I first found this place because I wanted to read up more on the Matrix debacle - gotta say, it's much better here than at the LL. That place has turned into a bunch of unknowledgeable ass kissers.jamestkirk wrote:Welcome, wheelz.wheelz34gh wrote:The radio broadcast, "From the inside w/ Jac Holzman"
A record collector/dealer friend of mine is from Michigan. Collects Mich psych & rock (well.... he collects everything rock and roll, has over 100,000 records). He grew up seeing Iggy & Seger & Quatro among the greats from your state! I think he saw The Stooges a couple dozen times....thru all Iggy's self-destructive 60s-70's stages. Have you heard of The Frederick?? Pop-psych....still searching...pretty good I hear and very collectable...vinyl goes for the $2000-3000 range now!
I can't say that I've ever heard of the Frederick. My excuse would be that I grew up in the 70's & 80's on the west side of the state. I missed out on a lot. Very impressive amount for their vinyl, though. If your friend experienced that era, I bet he didn't miss out on the MC5!

Totally one of my favorite live concerts.....the Roadhouse Blues start off scream was the best.....and of course all of Jim's little comments to the audience....wheelz34gh wrote:to stay on topic. listening to live in Boston now. Early set. God, they're off to start the show!

..."I think I'll pass." - very funny, indeed. I have to say that I like the energy level better in the 2nd set. Weird day of performing - especially Jim. Humorous interactions w/ the crowd throughout. Totally tanked to start - seems to pull it together as the night goes on (minus the mic in the mouth).Lauren wrote:Totally one of my favorite live concerts.....the Roadhouse Blues start off scream was the best.....and of course all of Jim's little comments to the audience....wheelz34gh wrote:to stay on topic. listening to live in Boston now. When I said the band was off, I meant they were not playing cohesively to start - Five to One, for instance. This, along w/ Jim's state, could have thrown them off all night. But, there are some definite highlights from that evening. I find it all to be very entertaining...

I think this concert is a perfect example of how the band would pull Jim back into performing when he started going off to never never land.....wheelz34gh wrote:..."I think I'll pass." - very funny, indeed. This concert was interesting in the sense that the "drunk Jim" would come in waves. At one point you can hardly hear LMF or Whiskey Bar and the next he is talking to the audience and singing fine.
At the end of the third disc...when they cut the power...what is the loud banging noise? I never really looked into it but am curious.....
Also, there is another clip out there, I do not know the concert, but Jim starts talking about a "special treat" as always-- and of course the audience thinks its his d*ck, then he starts laughing and says "oh no not that"... or something of the sort. Do you know which concert that was from?
