Something clearly very wrong with him. Whenever people do things this nasty they never, ever have a good reason for it. I'm not saying there's a good reason to kill anybody but it's like their brains don't even have to try to rationalize it, they just do it.
On the plus side I just read that most of the injuries are minor, which is good.
A few degrees in any direction and he would have been in huge crowds.

But the impact of this man actions will leave invisible wounds on so many people who were there. So many parents with children visiting.
You saw children with ponytails in their hair with the Dutch flag painted on their cheeks who were crying their eyes out. So many people saw it happen including children.

What always is a huge celebration all over the country ended in such a nightmare for so many people.

No doubt, violence against the innocent is so traumatic.
It's rather crazy that almost none of the U.S. news outlets have it. When Theo van Gogh was killed it was all over the papers.

That's because Theo van Gogh's murder was a terrorist attack.
I remember that day so well. It got silent on the streets and it was like everyone around me was afraid to talk. Like freedom of speech got killed.
In a way it did I guess.

I think if it was the royal family that got hurt it would have got more news report sadly.
People are people. The pain is the same.

That's what I was thinking too; if they find out this guy was some sort of religious extremist it will go from our back pages to the front pages because all of a sudden it concerns us

I assume that it is a National Holiday with no school or work for most. A tragedy for all....the man, & his victims. Obviously a tormented soul. So many times folks like that just want to die and can only justify it by hurting others....then he deserves to die--in his mind.

A National Day of mourning now........

Yes so sad. Tomorrow memorial services will be held. Maybe that will help for some to find some comfort. :)

It seems that the man who got arrested indeed lost his job and could not pay his rent anymore.
He is in critical condition in the hospital.

Queen's Day Celebration

Post by Orange Girl »

This was an attack for sure. He crashed through two road blocks, where no cars were allowed at all.
Reports are saying 4 deads and 21 wounded.
A little girl was flying through the air. :(

All celebrations are canceled now out of respect for the victims.
So sad and senseless - Heartfelt condolences to his victims and the poor spectators - glad to hear he died last night.

Yep he died last night.
Sadly another person died as well wich now means there are 7 deaths.
And there are still people in critical condition I think.
