Yeah, if it was male, I wanted to use Jim, but my fiance thought it was plain, lol. We want more and we'll probably continue naming our tarantulas after rock figures.

Funny regarding my two little birds
the male (green guy) is called Tito (see Tito and Tarantula

). Tito is a short name for Periquito which is the portuguese name for these birds (parakeet in english?).
the female (white one) is called Clarinha (it might be translated as Little Claire) and is a little terrorist bird

They're smart creatures. They love cookies and I have to restrict their diet because I felt they were getting fat.
It's great to have pets. You always find new things if you spend some time interacting with them.

So we convert "Open chat" in a pet thread? That's cool!

Yes, birds are very smart.. they aren't given enough credit for that. We had parakeets, cockatiels, finches, and one parrot while I was growing up. The parrot is still alive, but my mom had to sell her.

Haha, that's okay, I'm sure everyone else can chime in about their pets, too.

Not really a fan of spiders, but she really is a beautiful animal.
And interesting. How long does it take for a tarantula to be fully matured?
She's gonna get much bigger isn't she?

Well, my species is a very slow grower, so at the size she's at now, she's probably anywhere from a year and a half to 2 years old. It'll take her about 3 more years for her to be fully grown, which is 6.5 inches.

Also, this species lives longer than any other, especially the females, so she'll live about 25 to 30 years.

Yes, she has, because we are really in love with her, haha. She has such a cute personality. I saw her digging like an hour ago.

I will definately enjoy her.

You should look into them!

I just had a look at John's board. Is this about that MJ pedophile discussion at John's boatd?

Manuel, Amanda is a great young lady who does NOT kiss ass to Salli, Sally or Janet. I think it's fair to say she makes up her own mind on her opinions and she should be allowed to do so without being attacked, just like you.
Her posting on LL sometimes should not even be an issue here. You post there too right?
Name calling isn't gonna bring anyone anywhere on both sides in this case.

Nope, I was not able to go this time due to problems at work. I work at a small company in a small town and it's being hit hard by the economic crisis. For a long time it was feared it would go down and we all would be without a job. There is a how do you call it in English, a saving plan going on right now. Several people are fired and are in the process of being fired. Got some good news for me though. For me it's save now. I'll be able to stay though I might have to work less hours.
So the pressure in Holland has been huge and I couldn't go to Cali this time, wich shook me up pretty badly.

Been looking forward to it with all my heart.

So I'll be going later this year or next year. First gotto solve the mess in Hollandica.
Can't wait till I can go. Cause I will. Just a question of time. I love love.

Manuel is not a bad guy. He's always been nice to me. He just has a strange way of expressing himself cause of the language barrier. I hope you two can work it out somehow.

Like I said in the LL thread. I am having no trouble with Sally for ages now. She is kind to me on John's board so I refuse to be nasty to her without reason.

Salli and especially Janet I just ignore.

I had also been making some arrangements to get to LA in Oct/Nov but I have also had bad luck. I will get there ONE DAY. I've wanted to do this for 20 years.
