Queen Of The Highway/Indian Summer (well the whole LP..start to finish)

I always think of these two tracks as inseparable ....to be played as one.
Actually, of all the DOORS LPs, Morrison Hotel/Hard Rock Cafe HAS to be played start to finish. No... "just side two today"....has to be all.

It has a concept album feel for me...maybe because it was the year, I drove cross country, went to SF and Haight, camped in the Redwoods, and was arrested in the Nam protests...with DOORS music in my head. It was a very powerful LP and a very strong return to form after the spotty Soft Parade.

Cheers

Your welcome, twilla. Don't like to repeat myself (too much!) so if you haven't read my musings on the 60's....go to the "Journey through the past" subject. I have gone into some detail about travels to Cali etc.....and various musical journeys.

Thank you for sharing Scott. And you can repeat yourself as much as you want. Love your story telling. It shows how important music is. Image

Well Tomi, not the best song for me but I sure like it! The Seattle version is by far superior. I wonder if another version exists.

Some really dark, disturbing Doors songs:

The End
Cars Hiss By My Window
Someday Soon
End of the Night
Hyacinth House
Moonlight Drive

Not surprisingly some of the best ones!
Perhaps one day we can add Paris Blues to this list.
