Hey Chris...that California Little League team is amazing. That kid went four for four last night. ALL HOME RUNS! And their outfielder made the top ten highlights of the day...reserved for the big leaguers. He made a diving catch, leapt up and threw the base runner out trying to get back to first. Double play!

That home run kid has gone (something like) 14 hits out of 16 at bats...12 were home runs!! I may be LOW on those figures! Watch for him 10 years from now!!

I actually turned off my NY/Boston game to watch the kids play!!

If you soccer world fans can get the Little League World Series final on your TV, on Sunday...please watch it. These kids are amazing. You don't have to know baseball to admire these kids...its great fun!!

Well the term soccer mom actually refers to the archetype (driving a minivan, etc.) of the mothers who bring their kids to play soccer. Between the ages of about 5 and 14 a lot of American kids play soccer. After that they tend to lose interest, and where I came from the high school team was like 40% Russians and 50% Mexicans, the rest being American. Not that there's anything wrong with that, American kids just kinda lose interest and move on to other sports. Maybe it's due to the abundance of options? My sister went from soccer to softball to tennis with no real difficulty because there were plenty of teams to join.

no..we have lost paolo maldini maybe the bigger defender of late 25 yers...i'm so lucky to have seen the most bigger player in late 25 years...van basten..ronaldo...baggio.......i see all that ...but i never seen maradona also if have play to less that 1 km far me...

have you ever seen him played?

Maldini is a legend. And well deserved. A wondeful and and kind player and he always stayed true AC Milan.

I think the whole of Europe misses him.

Those three dutch men (Van Basten, Rijkard and Gullit) were unbelievable great players. You had to love Milan in those years!

Maradona? No I didn't saw him live.
He played in Lisboa against Sporting (also few km from me) and he scored against them!

I'm sure if he ever played in Portugal it would had to be in Benfica!

great monique, ajax in mid '90 was a great team, it wins against milan in the '95 final...grat reaspect of ajax..and in the '60 it was very very great team

yes SF, i think rui costa was much better that kaka'...i remember rui like a goog player and he wins several cup with us

I remember that and that we all went on the streets and jumped on the cars outside the bar where we all were celebrating.

What a match and what a party after worths. Great memories of two great teams in the final. Yes I do love Milan to. Always have. My favorite Italian club.

You both are lucky persons because you already saw your team being an european champion. The closest I was was against Milan (1990) The other time we lost... against PSV in 1988. We lost in penalties. Damn it!

That damn PSV. I agree with you.

Yes the celebrations were great. I remember at the bar/club where we watched the game the ceiling was decorated with red/white paper( kretpapier). And after Ajax won the finale and after celebrating outside we went in and a massive beer throwing party started. Standing on the seats and just throw your beer in the air. Ofcourse all that color paper at the ceiling got wet to and came down and everyone was covered in beer and clothes were all red. Sweet memories.

Good luck to Benfica SF. Would love it if they would win.

What a list of names of great teams SF. Best to all of them. And some other sports news. I didn't see it, but the Dutch woman became champion with hockey of Europe again.

And Victor, Fatima Moreira de Melo is retired now but active at presenting hockey games for the Dutch TV.

ps: btw, what meaning has the word Rabo in dutch? I'm familiar with Rabobank which is a bank of course but does the prefix "Rabo" means something? The portuguese word rabo means ass or should I say uiteinde...

Last week when I was at work a man got arrested after he drove his car in to the bushes at the back side of the appertment building where I live. Supposedly to flee the scene after threatning someone.

Now a 29 year woman has been murdered in my street.

What is it with little towns that bizarre stuff always happends Scott? I swear I could write a book on the subject of this street alone and it would be a best seller.
From what I have heard from my nephew who lives in the building where it happened, the woman got slaughtert with knifes. She leaves behind two children of the age of 2 and 4 years old.

And then to think we have only have an empty police station and the police has to come from out of town when trouble is here. Crazy.

How can someone explain them what happened to her mother, well assuming they didn't saw it.
I hope someone will take care of those children and give them love and hope in the future.
