The ways in which Arthur Lee's style influenced Jim Morrison

LOVE was another great band from the 60's and of course VERY Doors related.
I think it would be great to have this special topic about the band who was such a big example for The Doors.

The ways in which Arthur Lee's style influenced Jim Morrison

Post by StrangeNightOfStone »

I think Arthur Lee had a *huge* influence of Jim Morrison's style of singing, and onstage mannerisms.
When i saw Arthur live, he cupped his ear with one hand and sang with his eyes closed-Things Jim did in concert!
I think Arthur noticed this too, as he lamented to me that Jim 'stole his act'.

I think these are Athur Lee mannerisms Jim copied and made his own-What do you think?

I think Jim did copy things from Arthur. All Doors looked up to LOVE, remember Jim's words: "If we could only be as big as LOVE"

But then again, Arthur also claimed that Jimi Hendrix's clothing style came from him AND the use of the Wah Wah pedal came from LOVE also, here's what LOVE lead guitar player Johhny Echols wrote about it for my site:http://thefreedomman.com/love/Johnny6.htm

Good points- Little Richard also claimed Jimi stole his own clothing style- I think Little Richard was unnerved that Jimi could steal his spotlight

The reverend Little Richard can be a bit off-the-wall......one sandwich short of a picnic!
