OK....some music ladies!

Like the post says...."Madonna just finished her act with her eight piece band and 10 or 20 dancers, then on walks Neil with his guitar and harmonica and
he brought the house down." THERE IS NO ONE LIKE NEIL.

This songs means so much to me on so many levels......amazing.

Hey, shakey...welcome, or I should say wecome BACK!
...for a minute, I was so excited you might be "you know who"! Einarson
wrote a great book about Neil's youth.

I have a friend in LA, a legendary 70's DJ (still on the radio), who saw everyone on the Strip....from Buffalo Springfield to the Doors, Burritos to Byrds, Sons of Adam to Love, Gene Clark to Tim Buckley...back in the early days of the Whiskey...even Buffalo's legendary first stand
at the Whiskey. He saw Moby Grape, Quicksilver...I'll have to ask him about
the Doors at the Matrix and other famous venues.

He is a good friend of Peter Lewis of the Grape and Chris Hillman for decades.
He was also a good friend of Randy California and lives near my favorite drummer
Ed Cass Cassidy of Spirit. The stories he could tell.....all of those early
high school gym concerts when you got to see just about any up and coming band! Bito Lido's, Ciro's, the Whiskey.....Ben Frank's, Canters....

 Those were the daze! In the "gilded palace of sin"!!

Chris is th e best! You have probably read Einarson's
definitive book on the Burritos too with Hillman as co-author, wasn't it?

Time to pull my Gilded Palace white label promo out!

Yep, sure was hard & gritty in some of it's detail.
Still the music that came out of the period is still pretty special.
I remember reading that Keith Richards holds the highest regard for Gram Parsons and stated his influence was more sorely lost than that of Morrison when he died!

"The Ying Tong Song" - The Goons....lol...For those of you who dont know, the Goons were a hilariously funny british radio show in the 1950's.
The Goons are made up of Spike Milligan, Peter Sellers, and Harry Seacombe.
