When Arthur Lee was first dating her (before Jim) he described her as a cute little red head living in a garage in Laurel Canyon--he bought groceries for her, as he noticed there was no food around her little abode. That was quite common living in garages...a chair, a bed maybe...pretty simple. Arthur would drop off a bag of groceries even after they stopped dating and were friends.
