For me it would be

Monty Python
George Carlin
Benny Hill
Billy T James
Eddie Izzard...

The list goes on and on.

You should watch the movie called "Planes, trains and automobiles". Steve Martin is hilarious in that one.

Eddie Izzard is the funniest comedian ever. If anybody hasn't seen Dress to Kill, they should check it out. It's absolutely hysterical.

yes...Jeeves and Wooster is a classic. And of course he was crazy funny in the Black Adder series too. He is brilliant!

Maybe it's time for him to move on from "House"....don't want him to burn out on American "comedy"!!
His love of great rock tunes is evident on "House" displaying those iconic guitars....a playing air guitar to great guitar songs...he is in a celebrity rock band too, if I am right.

haha, "Allo Allo" is so european

it's great though..."Black Adder", is awesome as well...Hugh Laurie, like James pointed out, is absolutely brilliant in it.
Another few of my favourites:

Eddie Murphy in "RAW" was awesome back in the day
Used to think David Spade was good, seems like he's kinda fallen off now though
Will Ferrel is an all time great
John C Reilly is awesome as well
Steve Martin in "All of Me" and "Three Amigos"
The absolute genius of Peter Sellers
Tom Hanks is actually a really good comedic actor as well when he's not cast in his usual feelgood, bland kind of roles
Monty Python as mentioned earlier of course
The usual but mandatory pick, in my mind anyway, of "Seinfeld"
The guys from the british series "Peep Show", hilarious
Will Sasso of "Mad-Tv"...the new cast can't compare to any of his work in my mind

Yep Allo Allo is as European as it can get. They may show this in re-runs the rest of my life. Just hearing those voices. When Yvette grabs Rene: Ooooh RRRRRRRene!

Chalres Bukowski - Hostage

He's obviously not a comedian, but this recording is just off the hook and I advise it to anyone who likes real poetry and humour. Buk reads his writings and the chemistry between him and his audience makes up for a really great time with lots of laughs and with the proper serious treatment. Excellent album and sadly still not widely known.

I was at a recordconvention yesterday at the jaarbeurs in Utrecht.
There are always people there from Allo Allo.
Yesterday they had Helga and "good moaning" signing sig's for people and answering questions from people.

But seriously Ed. That is awesome. The series is still very wanted after all these years and it's nice to see some of the cast giving time to the fans.
Wondering what they look like too. It's hard to imagine them outside of their Helga and Crabtree role.

Wow Crabtree hasn't changed at all. Just a bit grey hair.
And the actress of Helga looks like a total sweetheart. Love her smile in this photo.
