Vince, what are your recollections of this concert? i have only heard it once and think it is amazing, the version of Break On Through they do is spellbinding.

Cobo Hall, Detroit.
This was one of the good ones. It seemed that every thing clicked. We pplayed there once before I memory serves well. That was a good one as well.
The participation of other musicians did indeed bring a veriety to the show. You know, the audience was always a part of the performance. This audience was pretty hot and that always gave the guys incentive.
A little side story, The group that played had a road crew. You have heard of Motly crew of course. The were more than slightly overweight. One migh say "husky" and all wore farmer John's. When they arrived we had set up and removed our truck,. The back in and piled out. With tham came jugs of wine. And more wine. After having a round, they opened that back doors. After that exertion, they needed a drink and so it went
They managed to get a few pieces of equipment onto the stage before they started laying down and... snoring. Yes, there were odies in and under the truck, the stage and the floor.
ABout 30 minutes before the show the promoter began to panic. So our crew took over and get things going. I am not sure how we did it but we managed to get their amps up, running and properly rigged and - as always the show went on.
It was not nly the Doors that had a good night on that occesion. Everyone had a great time. It was a good show.
They had these colored lights in valances around the back wall of the stage and rolling vcolor changes passed fro a light show.
This was one of those performances where Ray, John, Kim and Robbie really worked together without the slightest mis-step. Jim had just a bit to frink but that didn't stop him from being perfection.
OK - now I am gushing a little, let me put this in perspective. Using the Fillmore Eat performances at a 10, this had to be one of those 9.0 jobbies.
There is never a time whe we knew what was going to happen. This show struck like lightening. It was wonderful.
There it is. St. Louis, was another, and there were others. Nice to have a recording well done to keep the memories of these events. Imagine, if the recording was exciting - what was the live performance like.
