Here in coastal Maine were are looking at astronomical high tides coupled with high winds and rain...not a good formula for a quiet Halloween!
We're on higher ground here, on a protected cove, so no danger of flooding--but wide spread power outages are likely--so we have a big supply of firewood & candles in the house!
Let the Hurricane Sandy party begin! Stay safe, all those in harm's way!!

I know we're all consumed with life-altering issues such as the vocals on HILY on the recent release, but I just wanted to take a moment, before I pack up my computer and some valuables, to wish everyone on the East Coast (like me) my prayers and best wishes. Unlike Irene last year which mostly missed us here on Long Island, this time we're not going to be so lucky. With the surges this is going to be really bad. I won't be online for at least a week or so in light of the impending power outtages and just wanted to wish everyone in harm's way the best.

I was lucky. We're just far enough from the water that we avoided the worst of it. We lost power but got it back. No damage. I'm very thankful.

Away from home and with a few internet restrictions.
I'm glad all the US eastern people from this forum are OK.
Really sad to see all the destruction.
A word of hope and confort to all those that had any kind of loss.
