Love Live at the Grande Ballroom Detroit Internet Color Phot

LOVE was another great band from the 60's and of course VERY Doors related.
I think it would be great to have this special topic about the band who was such a big example for The Doors.

I have it downloaded to my computer but I can't copy it over here for some reason. Send me an e-mail at gerardpdaily@yahoo.com and I will try to attach it and send it to you by reply e-mail.

Grande Ballroom

Post by Bruno »

Hi guys!

Just to be clear, the photo was taken by Doug Van Tol at the Grande Ballroom, 8952 Grand River at Beverly, 1 block south of Joy Road, Detroit, Michigan, on Friday, May 31, 1968.

From left to right: Bryan MacLean, Kenny Forssi (hidden), Michael Stuart-Ware, Johnny Echols and Arthur Lee.

The band also played there on Saturday, June 1, 1968.

The shows were promoted by “Russ Gibb Presents In Detroit”.

Also on the bill: Crazy World Of Arthur Brown (May 31 and June 1), Wilson Mower Pursuit (May 31) and Psychedelic Stooges (June 1)

Hope these helps and, as usual, if you want to know more and more about the Grande Ballroom gig or about LOVE more generally, please check it out the one and only "LOVE Bible" aka "My Little Red Book - Love Day-By-Day1946-1971", the definitive biography of the band written by LOVE's historian and archivist Bruno Ceriotti (me, of course!) with the close help of all the former members of the band still alive! BTW, the photo of the band at the Grande Ballroom is in my book!
