1969 Filmore East video with Love

LOVE was another great band from the 60's and of course VERY Doors related.
I think it would be great to have this special topic about the band who was such a big example for The Doors.

1969 Filmore East video with Love

Post by MysticHeatedWine »

Love played the Filmore East in 1969 along with the Airplane , the Dead, and a few other bands. A video exists of this. Is this rare or not a big deal? Just curious.

I have a Fillmore West audio, but I'm hoping to find the one you speak of from a friend in Whales....Ed would know the answer here, of course. I take it it is not in Ed's list of his Love Collection at the Home page?

Is it the complete fillmore gig, or the very dark footage that can be found on YouTube posted by Torben?

I assume you are asking about the Fillmore East film?

It only has about 7 minutes of Love from what I've been told. There's also a few minutes each of the Dead, the Airplane, Mountain and Delaney and Bonny. The whole thing is about 84 or 85 minutes I believe. My understanding is the footage is dark.

Ahhhh.....nothing to get too excited about. We have plenty of full length Love
from around then and beyond, that is quite good....Glastonbury, The Stables,(much later but great)
Love in Denmark ( I love that footage of Love entering the airport to the added background of "All You Need Is Love")

Thanks for the info. I mostly collect the Doors and Zep. I don't know as much about Love as you guys.

What about the 1969 Norwegian TV Show Love did? Would most collectors have that?

Never heard of.I only know their gig in Denmark 1970 was filmed. That's a nice example of how LOVE was at the end of the 60's.

And the live performance of Doggone is featured in Love Story...a very fine performance from the Denmark concert in 1970.

That is one of my favorite videos, Ed.
