Tom waits is amazing, i have everything (mostly) hes ever done... such an artist and such a voice

A living legend. This guy has an unique, highly improbable style if you're thinking in success in the global music business.

Tom is admired here in Portugal.

My first impressions about Tom Waits? I thought someone had put the vinyl in wrong speed!

The second thought? I'm listening to some non commercial, author music, made at best to some hundreds of people to listen.

Then I realized this guy was big in audience and giant in talent. It's great to see how true talent is so widely recognized and how this guy keeps maintaining a healthy attitude facing "fame".

First album I listened: Raindogs! So, "Jockey Full of Bourbon, Tango Till They're Sore, Diamonds & Gold, Hang Down Your Head, Time, Rain Dogs, Blind Love, Downtown Train among others. I was petrified. Amazed. I went back to listen to other albums. I still have some particular feelings about this one. Also, the was very impressed by his live performance skills Big Time. Great!

Another one is the first time I listened to Chocolate Jesus. It was in a kind of modern circus in Toulouse, France. A couple was performing synchronized dance under this music on a climbing wall! No kidding! I recognized Tom's voice but I didn't knew already the music. I probably eat some flies given the time I had my mouth open. What a great introduction to another favourite song of mine (a truly candy item)!

Hold on is one of my favorites to! The piano has been drinkin' was the first one i heard. I was drunk too! I loved the song on the spot!

What an artist! What a performer!!!! I Love the VH1 Storytellers. I love more the talking part then the music!!!!! If you understand what a mean saying it... I really love that little storys he make up for the songs. What an entertainer.
You guys remember that Coffe & cigarettes thing with iggy pop? "... tom waits for no man".
