Music Appreciation...yesterday & today! Newly revived!

This thread was "lost" when the site had some server problems a few years ago....so here it is REPOSTED - and I forgot it completely! It's like reading a book of the greatest music ever recorded! Thanks all!

Everyone has a defining moment(s) in their music-appreciation personal history.
Mine was growing up in the 60's psych era. For me, nothing evokes the
period of mind tripping music & puts me back in that place like
Country Joe & the Fish's 'Electric Music For the Mind & Body' or
"When The Music's Over"....or "In My Life" or....you get me.

.......all part of the mind expanding 60's, Vietnam protests, shouts
of revolution & revolutionary music. Amazing time!!

So here I & we can share our music appreciation for all the is the
golden age of ROCK!

Oh yeah! Poco! too! Their first two LPs are the best! Grabbed "Pickin' Up The Pieces"
in '69 the week it was released. By the way, "Pickin' Up The Pieces " is the only debut album EVER to receive a perfect
review rating from Rolling Stone....& I mean EVER!!! That is saying something.........
Their 2nd LP has the best live (18 minute) jam....just unbelievable musicianship!

Always been a Buffalo Springfield (with all the incarnations) fan. Did anyone pick up Neil's first LP in the first month it was released-1968; or snare a used copy?
Most people have never heard the very different & much better mixes of at least four of the tracks. Neil hated the remixes, never to be heard again; released the remixes that have been around since that first month's original.

Was that a time?!!

CSN, Neil Young, Poco (Richie & Jim, with Randy Meisner) all issuing their first albums around the same time.

Does anything come close today!!? I'm not a music snob (much!), but am I right?
