40th Anniversary
September 19, 2007
Well, we head to the airport in 3 hours’ time. I know Arthur probably would have been cool to perform one of these songs! He loved the Beatles and I wish he could have been a part of this event. We had fun doing 2 sets Sunday at a studio in Hollywood. (Hannah was impressed because she met an American Idol guy named Yemin or Yamit or something like that…he was in the studio next to us…)
So, the line-up is really interesting and we’ve had the pure pleasure of jamming twice now with Sparks’ Russell Mael (as well as Sparks drummer, Tammy, baking us all AWESOME Brownies…)
So, the line-up for Musica Septembre In Milano is as follows:
Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band – Baby Lemonade
With a Little Help from my Friends – Jarvis Cocker
Lucy In the Sky with Diamonds – Beth Orton
Getting Better – Badly Drawn Boy
Fixing A Hole – Alex Chilton
She’s Leaving Home – Marianne Faithful
Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite – The Residents
Within You Without You – Peter Murphy
When I’m Sixty-Four – Russell Mael
Lovely Rita – Badly Drawn Boy
Good Morning Good Morning – Robyn Hitchcock
Sgt. Peppers (Reprise) – Baby Lemonade (w/ Robyn Hitchcock)
A Day in the Life – Marianne Faithful & Jarvis Cocker
Fingers crossed!
Mike Randle
